Been reading some Arthur C Clarke lately and I've been drawing a bit of inspiration from his writings. If you haven't read any of his sci-fi I suggest you check it out. Brilliant, addicting stuff.  Oddly I didn't start with his classic 2001 a Space Odyssey (www.goodreads.com/book/show/70…), instead I started with Rendezvous with Rama (www.goodreads.com/book/show/11…) which is a great concept involving a sort of cylindrical space ark arriving in our solar system. Currently I'm in the middle of his book The Wind from the Sun (www.goodreads.com/book/show/14…) which is a collection of short stories he wrote in the 1960s. On top of that I'm also reading Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (www.goodreads.com/book/show/61…) by Carl Sagan and his wife Ann Druyan, which is all at once about space, human history, and philosophy.

Uploaded a couple sketches from my sketchbook and a new space piece. Hope you all like them. As always more coming soon. I'll be posting it later tomorrow...I mean today (seeing as it is 12:39am) when it drys. Tried going for a slight Chinese influence on the style, but didn't quite achieve the look, so my dream of making a painting with of viking ship with a Chinese like style overall is still a dream...yet one must practice, one must practice. Screw practice, one must learn...wait learning involves practice...whatever...I give up...time to go read and browse art or something.

Been doing a lot thinking about where I am spiritually in life lately. I don't think I'll ever have a set spiritual path, but lately I've been blending elements of Asatru, aka, Norse paganism or heathenism, with elements of Taoism and Zen Buddhism because it works for me. Sort of eclectic, but whatever.

On another spiritual note, I became an official priest of Dudeism (dudeism.com/) back in February, which is inspired by the character of the Dude from the Big Lebowski (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_…), zen, and Taoism. It even has it's own version of the Tao Teh Ching (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tao_Te_C…), The Dude De Ching (dudeism.com/thedudedeching/). Cool thing is with my priestly status I can legally perform marriages and other priestly duties, assuming that wherever I live accepts my official priesthood, which the county where I live in my state does.

Anyways I think my conclusion I was trying to get to in this post is that between my spiritual influences, I would have to say I'm headed for Dudehalla when I die...sort of a blend of nirvana, Valhalla, and paradise in general...in my mind...but it sounds cool!
